A File Manager software tool is available in all Internet hosting Control Panels. As the name implies, it is used to command the files in an account and all File Managers support a range of primary features - browsing, moving, copying and deleting files. A number of Control Panels may provide you with more advanced functions also - changing file and folder permissions or creating and unpacking archives. Though files can be uploaded and downloaded using an FTP client, the File Manager is used much more often, so the easier to use it is, the easier it'll be for you to handle your presence online in its entirety. The opposite is also true - a File Manager that's difficult to use can make it more annoying and challenging for you to control the site content, specifically if you don't have previous experience.

File Manager in Cloud Hosting

The File Manager tool, that is a part of our in-house developed Hepsia CP, will allow you to administer all of the files which you upload to your cloud hosting account without any difficulty. You can move files and entire folders by dragging-and-dropping them within the account. You can upload content in the same way - select a file/folder on your computer and drag it to your Internet browser where the File Manager is loaded. By right-clicking a file or a folder in your account, you can also access context menus with more advanced options - you will be able to create or to unpack an archive, to create a password-protected area, to change the UNIX permissions through a web interface or to change the content with a variety of editors without ever leaving the Control Panel – a plain text editor, a code editor or an HTML editor. We have also provided help articles and instructional videos, you can access right from the File Manager to get more information about its functions.

File Manager in Semi-dedicated Hosting

Our highly developed, albeit intuitive File Manager offers you total control over your content and you won't have any issues managing the folders and files that you set up or upload to your semi-dedicated server account, even when you have never used a hosting service before. The options it's providing are no more than a few mouse clicks away, even the more sophisticated ones including creating a password-protected folder, creating or unpacking an archive, modifying UNIX permissions or opening a file in a plain text or an HTML editor. Via right-click context menus, you'll feel just as if you’re working on your home PC. Additionally, the File Manager supports dragging-and-dropping of files and whole folders - both within the account and from your PC. With the latter alternative, you can upload content directly, which takes away the need for an FTP client.
